Race Meeting 6 June

This race meeting was not about proving anything or where I was going to finish, but more about getting used to the car’s feel with the new suspension. Qualifying was in the wet and definitely did not go as planned. I ended up spending more time off the track and in the mud than on the track. It was all made especially difficult as I had not had time to test out the new suspension at all.

I managed to finish 5th and 6th respectively. These results where not what I was hoping for, but I took comfort in the fact that my lap times had improved throughout the day to the point where I was back on the pace and getting used to the feel of the new suspension.

The down time between race meetings was frantically used up trying to get the car back down to a ride height more acceptable and big thanks go to my dad, Owen Ashley, Ian Glass, the team at Link Engineering, Ben Kempen

‘the master wheel alignment technician’ and Lynton at Tiger Wheel and Tyre Cape Town for all the technical work and advice and to the Powerflow team for putting the parts together. As soon as we were happy with the setup I booked the track so I could get in some laps to learn the feel of the car all over again.
