A SHORT HISTORY OF DICK BATE AND POWERFLOW SALT RIVER: In November 1984 I, Dick Bate, purchased a motorcycle business which just happened to be the agent for POWERFLOW motorcycle products in the Western Cape. My belief in providing quality products at competitive prices lead my company, Dick Bate Motorcycles, to become the HIGHEST SELLING POWERFLOW motorcycle shop in the country.
Some years later, Mark Tonkinson purchased POWERFLOW and suggested that we start a vehicle exhausts fitment centre. Being already familiar with the quality of the POWERFLOW product, I was easily convinced. The store was opened in March 1993 which makes us the longest standing store still owned and managed by the original owner and the FIRST EVER POWERFLOW store in the WESTERN CAPE.
Due to my involvement in Motor Racing with both cars and bikes, we at POWERFLOW SALT RIVER have oil in our veins and are still very excited and involved in Motorsport, specifically in the POWERFLOW Gti Challenge for which we are co-sponsors and also running a POWERFLOW branded car.
Our shop has a DYNO (rolling road) for testing vehicle performance and this helps us to build the BEST Freeflow Stainless Steel Systems available in the country.
For maximum performance and fuel economy we fit predominantly BROSPEED Branch Manifolds and our very own custom made POWERFLOW Freeflow Stainless Steel Systems.
Most vehicles can expect a power increase of 5% with a Freeflow System and an ADDITIONAL 5% with a BROSPEED Branch.
